Here on the big island we have a large community of photographers and creative people but a huge void of opportunities to express themselves. The idea we had for forming this collective was to create a way for various disciplines to collaborate on a project and exercise their skills in a way that a normal club structure wouldn't allow. In this collaborative the models, makeup artists, and photographers all carry the same creative weight.

A newcomer snaps a few cool shots

Sharon Yoon is a new addition to our shooting gallery members. She got an opportunity to shot with Eric Franke using his studio lighting setup. Sharon produced some fine images for her first time working with studio lights.

Salon of Portraits
Aloha Kona Photo Club fans,
Well we hosted the third Club photo shoot at the Naked Roots Salon in Kona this past Saturday. Jackie, our stylist, out did herself knocking out 3 fabulous hair styles and make up for 3 lovely female models. Regina helped to put on the final make up touches. In addition to Regina and myself 3 of our favorite photogs join us along with a few new snappers. We had a little bit of a challenge setup lights and backdrops in 3 separate areas around the salon but in the long run I think we got a few good images of our beautiful models.
Here are a few of the shots that I took, I hope you enjoy them we're hoping to have a few more from some of our invited photos soon.

Varoom... Varooom
The lost boys stepped out in to the road, stopping all traffic that traveled by. Faster than I could change the settings on my camera, a motorcycle passes by only on the real wheel. For those of who are not familiar with "wheelies", it makes you adrenaline rush! How fascinated by Matt's amazing motorcycle stunts. Oh and did I mention he is traveling at 50-75mph while he is doing all this?
